Welcome to English 10!
English 10 will focus on World literature. Genres explored in this course are epic poems, essays, short fiction, informational text, poetry, novels and plays. Units are arranged thematically with whole-group, small-group, and independent learning while incorporating reading, writing and speaking along with performance tasks and performance-based assessments. Grammar and vocabulary will be explored in relation to the course material. Writing techniques follow the 6+1 Traits format.

Students self-select a text to explore an aspect of the unit topic and share their learning with the class (Independent Learning).
Performance Tasks build toward and prepare students for the Unit Performance-Based Assessment.
